National Security To Investigate False Earthquake Information Ablakwah

A Deputy Minister of Information, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwah, has disclosed that the National Security would investigate the false earthquake report that over-shadowed the country on Monday. According to him, since the news broke out, the National Security had been on top of the issue and was ready to go the extra mile into finding out what really propelled such an information. They have checked all agencies be it international or local, and they dont seem to know where this is coming from, he stated. Meanwhile, Mr. Okudzeto Ablakwah says government has made various checks at all agencies that were related to the information. We have called the US based NASA agency, we have called the BBC which is being credited with this information and they have all denied having put any such information out, he said. The minister described the situation as lacking basis and only a rumour. He said the situation was a prank on the country by somebody. It is just a rumour that there is going to be an earthquake, there is no iota of scientific evidence in that. Somebody has just pulled a prank on the nation....It is nothing but a wild rumour orchestrated and aimed at causing commotion and panic, he declared. He called on the general public and for that matter Ghanaians to stay calm as there was no cause for alarm. He said the security agencies would look into the matter. But for how all agencies checked proves the situation was a wild one.
