In a statement issued by the office of the former President and copied to Peacemfonline.com, Mr. Mahama commiserated with the deceased family saying "Lordina and I join grieving Ghanaians in expressing our condolences to the wife, children, family and the New Patriotic Party (NPP) on his loss.”

Read full statement below:

“I received news of the Hon. Emmanuel Kyeremateng Agyarko’s death with great shock last night.

The very kind words in the tributes being paid to him, accurately reflect the kind of person he was.

Politics may divide us on ideological lines and during debates and arguments, but Emmanuel Agyarko’s personality and his conduct even in the political space, always exemplified the gentleman that he was.

Lordina and I join grieving Ghanaians in expressing our condolences to the wife, children, family and the New Patriotic Party (NPP) on his loss.”
