Editorial: Blame NPP For Kukrudu, Eshi Rado Rado Scare Mongering

The NPP can jump up to the roof-up against the allegation that they brought about the kukrudu (earthquake) scare rumour in the country the night the NDC were returning home after peaceful and successful National Delegates Congress in Tamale. We know the capacity of the NPP in this kind of diabolical prank. We know their records in the past, present, and we know that they will hatch another evil plot in the future. The NPP in the 2000 general elections played on deadly tricks on Ghanaians when they have imported dead bodies into the country with the help of some heads of state in our neighbouring countries to create panic among Ghanaians. The NPP, having failed to convince Ghanaians with their policies and programmes in the 2000 general elections, resorted to evil plan where they imported about 34 dead bodies made of women to make the NDC government unpopular to just win political power. Creating panic in a country for political advantage is the hallmark of the NPP anytime they are out of political power. It is rather unfortunate that the slogan and motto of the NPP should depict violence and death. Indeed, there is nothing good about the partys slogan Kukrudu, eshi rado rado. It means earthquake and death. Real normal human beings will hardly adopt this type of obnoxious phrase as political slogan. Political parties, potentially governing bodies, therefore, it behooves the leaders to choose words devoid of violent tendencies that will destabilize society. The symbol of the NPP is the elephant that stands for destruction and violence. The slogan connotes mayhem and violence. Their responses represent nothing but bloodshed and death. That is the kind of political party we have in Ghana. It is not surprising that every intra-politics of the NPP, right from the polling stations to the national level, is characterized by violence, and sometimes they kill themselves over positions in the party. One could cite an incident that occurred at Nungua, a suburb of Accra, where a Constituency Chairman was beaten to death and dumped into a forest area around Nungua. Having examined the records of the NPP, it will not be farfetched to deduce that the text message that sparked the earthquake rumour scare was a hatched plan of the NPP, meant to scuttle the joyous mood of Ghanaians and NDC members in particular for uniting for another victory in 2012 elections. The NDC must know that the NPP is yet to engage them in the worse and devilish act that will make the government unpopular in the eyes of the international community and the larger electorate. The President, Prof John Evans Atta Mills must watch out else, the NPP will paint his government deadly black just to win political power. The NPP is an evil party made of criminals, and full of criminal activities such as cocaine business, contract killings, amongst other horrendous acts. The NPP cannot run from the recent rumour that earthquake would hit some parts of the country.
