The Managing Editor of the Insight newspaper, Kwesi Pratt Jnr, has descended heavily on ex-president Rawlings, advising him to realize that he is no more the President of the country. He said, there is a need for the former President to keep quiet and sit back to watch how the Mills' administration will perform. �Rawlings must know that he is no more the President, his time is past and there is a new Head of State on the board,� he said. Speaking to Peace FM on �Kokrokoo�, he said certain statements made by the ex-president at the NDC National Congress were unhealthy and uncalled for. "Though he has contributed significantly to the building of the NDC party, that should not be the basis for him to be so garrulous...It is in his own interest to become very sober, reflective and detached,� he stated, warning that he might lose his charisma if he is not careful. �It is important for him to understand that very clearly,� he added. He told Kwami Sefa Kayi, host of Peace FM's �Kokrokoo�, that he might be arguably the most successful president in Ghana�s history but that does not give him the urge to be roaring and barking everywhere. �If he is the most successful President, and so what? He should just keep quiet�. The outspoken senior journalist opined if the former President sits back, maybe in future his name will be written in gold or diamond. He however, expressed worry about some of the ex-president's utterances, and pleaded with him (Rawlings) to sit back for peace to prevail in the NDC party. After what is perceived to be a successful congress by the NDC, Kwesi Pratt believes that the tales told by the party�s founder at the Congress were unnecessary and pregnant with meanings but party members were afraid to air their views. The story of the infamous �Atta The Mortuary Man� has so far received much attention. But Mr. Pratt believes its true meaning is derogatory to President Mills. �It was very clear and I thought it was most unfortunate, something which a former President should not have engaged in�, he said. He also asserted that Mr. Rawlings' statement regarding, party delegates not being appropriately catered for at the congress in Tamale are baseless. �There is no party congress that will provide a 5-star hotel for you,� Mr. Pratt said. The former President also stated at the Tamale Congress that when he was re- building the NDC with his then 7-month pregnant wife, Nana Konadu Rawlings, some leading members of the party probably had their wives doing pedicure and manicure in town. But Mr. Pratt countered and said, "it is not possible for only two people to build a political party like the NDC. �Can it be possible for a man and his wife alone to build a political party?�, he asked, apparently emphasizing that Rawlings needed to refresh his memory.
