BA UTV Reporter Is Gone

Mavis Animah Yeboah, the Brong Ahafo correspondent of UTV, has passed on at the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital (KATH) in Kumasi after a short illness.

Most media personnel in the region, who recently covered the referenda in the area, have expressed surprise at the untimely death of their colleague.

“The cause of her death is not yet known, but there are reports she suffered complications after delivering six months ago. Most of us were shocked at the news since none of us heard of her sickness. His brother, Owura, informed us that on that fateful day her condition worsened and was rushed to KATH,” one of the journalists disclosed.

Mavis previously worked under Beatrice Spio-Garbrah, the then Ashanti Regional correspondent for Metro TV.

“She came to the region with the zeal to work for UTV as its first correspondent in the region.  As a woman, she reported from remotest parts of the region where most of the guys couldn’t go for UTV. She worked hard until her untimely death,”the journalist added.

She passed away on 27th December, 2018 and is survived by her children and husband.
