Man Grabbed For Sexually Molesting Minor

Alhaji Mohammed, a Public Toilet Attendant believed to be in his mid-60’s allegedly accused of sexually molesting a 15-year-old girl in a cubicle within a public toilet has appeared before an Accra Circuit Court.

Alhaji Mohammed, charged with an indecent assault pleaded not guilty.

The court presided over by Mrs Rita Abrokwah Doko has admitted Mohammed to bail in the sum of GHC10,000.00 with three sureties to reappear on February 21.

Prosecuting, Chief Inspector Kofi Atimbire said the complainant is a trader residing at Dome Pillar two with the victim, who is her step daughter.

Chief Inspector Atimbire said the complainant operates at Ofankor, in Accra and Mohammed also work at Ofankor as a Toilet Attendant.

He said on December 1, last year, the victim attended to nature call at the public toilet where Mohammed works, and when she finished and was about leaving, Mohammed lured her into a cubicle at the entrance of the toilet and inserted his finger into her vagina.

The Prosecution said the following day the victim narrated her ordeal to the complainant.

He said on the 3rd December last year, the complainant and victim proceeded to the Ofankor Police Station to lodge a complaint.

Mr Atimbire said a Police medical report form was issued to the complainant to seek medical assistance for the victim.

The Prosecution said subsequently, Mohammed was arrested by the Police and the matter was transferred to Tesano Domestic Violence and Victim’s Support Unit for further investigations.
