You Don’t Know What Today Or Tomorrow Has In Store For You . . . NDC Goofed Big Time - Gary Nimako

Communication team member of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP), Lawyer Gary Nimako has described the “bloody widow” inscription by the Minority in Parliament during the swearing-in ceremony of Madam Lydia Seyram Alhassan as MP for Ayawaso West Wuogon Constituency as “unparliamentary”.

He wondered why the Minority caucus in Parliament could be insensitive to describe the newly sworn-in Hon. Lydia Alhassan as a “bloody widow” when she has just come out of a very traumatic experience of losing a partner in life.

To him, the Minority messed up a great opportunity to tell their story and earn the sympathy of Ghanaians in the aftermath of the violence that characterised the Ayawaso West Wuogon by-election.

Bloody widow description is unparliamentary, unfortunate, unmerited, insensitive...this is a woman who has just come out of a very traumatic experience, losing a partner in life; a partner that you have kids with,” he stated.

Speaking on GhOne TV’s "State of Affairs" with Nana Aba Anamoah as the host, Gary Nimako demanded to know the reaction of the NDC who have tagged Hon. Lydia Alhassan as “bloody widow” when they find themselves in similar unpleasant situations.

It is an experience that anybody can go through at any point in time. You don’t know what today or tomorrow has in store for you; then something happens and they describe your partner as a bloody spouse because of politics . . . they could have done or said something else, but certainly not for that 'bloody widow'," he added.
