Clergyman calls on Ghanaians to defend country's integrity

The Right Reverend Dr Yaw Frimpong-Manso, Moderator of the General Assembly of the Presbyterian Church of Ghana, has called on Ghanaians to be tolerant and defend the country's integrity. He also asked them to eschew laziness and work hard towards the transformation of the nation. Rt-Rev. Dr. Frimpong-Manso made the call at the ceremony to elevate the Fafraha Victory Presbyterian Church into a district status, at Fafraha near Adenta in the Greater Accra Region on Sunday. It was under the theme 'Praising God, expecting more, working harder'. Rt-Rev. Dr. Frimpong-Manso stressed the need for the people to do away with apathy and social vices such as armed robbery, violence and back-biting, which he said hindered national development. He also advised Ghanaians against spending lavishly on funerals and other social ceremonies and invest in the education of their children. Rt-Rev. Frimpong-Manso appealed to members of the church to work hard towards the growth of the church. Rev. George Kwapong, in charge of the Fafraha Church, the church that was stared in 1993 with 12 members now had a congregation of 1,524. He commended the founding members for their contribution to the church.
