SONA 2019: Prez Akufo-Addo Was Honest – Dep. Sanitation Minister

The Deputy Minister of Water Resources and Sanitation, Patrick Yaw Boamah, has commended President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo for delivering on his promises.

According to him, the President's address to the nation on Thursday, February 21, 2019 captured all sectors of the economy and outlined projects the government is undertaking to enhance the progress of the economy.

Speaking after the 2019 State of the Nation Address, Patrick Boamah said "all in all the president touched on every sector and I believe he gave an honest account on the State of the Nation on the economy, security which everybody thought he wasn’t going to talk about which he did and did so rightly.”

Mr. Boamah believes President Nana Addo has put Ghana on a path that's made the country attractive to the international community and investors.

“Foreign policy has attracted a lot of good investors into our country in the automobile industry and the area of Sports . . . we saw what the President talked about in the abandoned project on Legon Sports stadium.  I believe the President gave an honest account,” he added.

President Akufo-Addo was welcomed by Parliament on Thursday to present his third State of The Nation Address in accordance with Article 67 of the 1992 Constitution of Ghana.

President Akufo-Addo noted that his administration has since its inception made great strides in managing the economy and ensuring fiscal discipline under his leadership.

According to him, his objective is to build a better Ghana for generations and so believed one step forward is to maintain discipline in spending character of his government.
