NPP In "NDC Clothing" Leaked Ofosu-Ampofo's Tape - Bia East MP

Member of Parliament for Bia East, Richard Acheampong says the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) is behind the leaked tape containing a voice said to be that of Mr. Samuel Ofosu-Ampofo, the National Chairman of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC).

In the leaked audio recording, a voice which has been associated with Mr. Ofosu-Ampofo could be heard telling the party members to "wage war" against the EC Boss, Jean Mensa and also make life uncomfortable for the NPP members.

”We must wage a relentless war on this EC Chair.. . . . We will go after them (NPP) but we will not go after them face-to-face. We have to use tactical operation to make life very uncomfortable for them. We will target some people and we will let the people know that their lives are in danger," Ofosu-Ampofo allegedly said.

Addressing the issue on Peace FM's "Kokrokoo" programme, Hon. Richard Acheampong admitted there was a meeting between the NDC National Chairman, Mr. Ofosu-Ampofo and some party members after the Ayawaso West Wougon by-election.

But he believes the audio recording was done by spies from the NPP who were planted among the NDC to glean information from them.

He shared the idea that the NPP doctored the tape and leaked it to assassinate the character of Mr. Ofosu-Ampofo and tarnish the image of the NDC.

“Nobody is denying the meeting didn’t take place. Nobody denied that fact but they’re asking if there were NPP people among us or not. If the person’s character doesn’t resemble the NPP, how come the NPP got the tape? So it means there are NPP people among us in NDC clothing," he stated.
