Communications Director for the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP), Lawyer Buabeng Asamoah, has said the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) is sweating in their scramble to control the reputational damage of Chairman Ofosu-Ampofo’s leaked tape.
 
According to him, the NDC, as a party, is very worried about the tape, but they are trying to act indifferent.

“NDC’s diabolic plans are manifested in Ofosu-Ampofo's leaked tape," he said.

Speaking on Okay FM’s Ade Akye Abia programme, he explained that whether he said it or not is really not the case, but the content of the tape.

He recounted that the current menace of kidnapping, robbery cases and the shooting happening in the country are worrying and for a National Chairman to make comments to that effect, it is very dangerous.

He therefore asked them to eat humble pie and apologies to Ghanaians for plotting evil against them.

However, he admitted of having a cordial relationship with the General Secretary of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), Johnson Asiedu Nketia, but debunked having a meeting with him.

“I have never had any meeting with Mr. Asiedu Nketia ever since I became the communication director of NPP but as politicians we are in good terms,” he stressed.

In a meeting held at the party’s headquarters, the National Chairman of the opposition party was heard admitting to the importation of the Azorka Boys to cause mayhem during the Ayawaso West Wuogon by-election.

Mr. Ofosu-Ampofo is also heard encouraging his party members to unleash venom on Mrs Jean Mensa, the Chairperson of the Electoral Commission.

In the same audio, the elder of the Church of Pentecost can be audibly heard urging the party’s communicators to descend heavily on the Chairman of the Peace Council.

Tongues have started wagging as to who recorded the audio and leaked same to the NPP.
