Akufo-Addo’s Attempt To Fight Galamsey Has Never Been Genuine – Former NDC DCE

Former NDC District Chief Executive (DCE) for Upper Denkyira West, Ambrose Amoah Ashyia says President Akufo-Addo’s effort to fight Galamsey has never been genuine, because he is very much aware of where his party’s resources come from and the meetings they have held concerning illegal mining issues.

According to him the NPP as a party have claimed galamsey lands in the name of the party where they receive their resources from to finance the affairs of their party.

“To the best of my knowledge the NPP in dubious ways have claimed galamsey lands working in the name of their party, yet they have intentionally connived with individuals to perceive they are the owners when they are not,” he said.

Discussing on Adom FM’s ‘mpensenpensenmu’ newspaper panel discussion programme, he was surprised that the NPP has now disowned its shadow Communicator, Kweku Baako Jnr. all because the Tiger Eye PI has unveiled their corrupt galamsey practices.

Editor-in-Chief of the New Crusading Guide newspaper, Abdul Malik Kweku Baako, says Anas Aremeyaw Anas and his TigerEye PI team have no qualms presenting the raw footage of its latest exposé on galamsey to government.

The well acclaimed investigative journalist has released a new investigative piece dubbed: "Galamsey Fraud Part 1".

This exposé uncovers top government appointees and security personnel who are supposed to help in the fight against Galamsey, "stabbing President Akufo-Addo in the back" and encouraging the practice, which has resulted in the destruction of several water bodies in the country.

Minister of Information, Kojo Oppong Nkrumah, touching on the release of the galamsey video, said "government will have the said tapes properly investigated using the raw unedited footage,” adding that the Akufo-Addo led administration appreciates every effort in helping the administration succeed.
