Kintampo, Techiman Gory Accident: I'm Hugely Disappointed In Gov’t – Ras Mubarak

The Member of Parliament for Kumbungu Constituency, Hon. Ras Mubarak has expressed disappointment in the Akufo-Addo government for managing Kintampo and Techiman gory accident poorly.

According to him, government has not yet shown any leadership skills in handling this issue.

“It is not easy looking at the extent of injuries of some affected victims, because some of them cannot walk for the rest of their lives and it is very disheartening,” he said.

Speaking on Okay FM’s Ade Akye Abia Programme, he slammed the government for refusing to make a stopover at Kintampo and Techiman to commiserate with bereaved families and those undergoing treatment in various hospitals for injuries sustained.

This weekend, the president could have seized the opportunity to sympathized the bereaved families of the deceased as he travelled to Tumu for a festival.

"What would it take to stop over at Kintampo and Techiman to see the bereaved families and even those who are undergoing treatment and are at the various hospitals as the father of the nation?

"Even though we have heard that he bear the cost of the medical bills of the victims which is good, but he could have stop over shortly and look at those who have life-threatening injuries," he added.

He also stressed that one thing he was expecting from the government was to make a public announcement of package for that category of those victims.

More than 70 men of your country are dead…not even an announcement or declaration of mourning for their lives…very disappointing and shameful…and that is why I personally am so disappointed in the government for handling this issue so poorly, and I think they could have done better," the NDC MP said.
