Vice President Bawumia Mourns With Nandom Traditional Council

Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia over the weekend led a government delegation to join members of the Nandom Traditional Council in the memorial service of late Nandom-Naa, Naa (Dr) Puoure Puobe Chiir VII.

He was accompanied by Interior Minister and Member of Parliament for Nandom Constituency, Mr Ambrose Dery; Member of Parliament for Lawra Constituency and Deputy Minister of Roads and Highways, Mr Anthony Abayifaa Karbo and the Upper West Regional Minster.

He donated cash amount of GH¢10,000.00, while the Upper West Regional Minister, Dr Hafiz Bin Salih gave out GH¢2,000.00.

Former President and Flagbearer of National Democratic Congress (NDC) , Mr John Dramani Mahama and his entourage also attended the service and donated GH¢5,000.00.

The National House of Chiefs was also represented by a powerful delegation led by President of Upper West Region House of Chiefs and a Member of Council of State, Kuoro Richard Kanton VI, who is also the President of the Tumu Traditional Council.

The delegations were ushered in by Naa Dr. Enerst Sangson-Tulong I, Gengenkpe-Naa.

Naa Dr Chiir VII was the seventh Paramount Chief of Nandom Traditional Area and son of Naa Puobe Imoru and was born on 13th October 1945 at Nandom.

He attended the Local Authority and Middle Day schools in Nandom from 1951 to 1958 before proceeding to Government Secondary School in Tamale (Now Tamale Senior High School).

He obtained General Certificate Education, Ordinary Level (1st Division) and Advanced Level.
