Is Rawlings Blowing Hot Air?

Being a sitting president may obviously be different from being a former leader or a party founder. Things change quickly with events or circumstances certainly may not necessarily favour ones taste or look. As the saying goes, some are born great; some have greatness on their shoulders then some achieved greatness by learning. Mr. Rawlings fumes and anger over some of Atta mills Men in government may not have come at a bad time like this when the economy is thriving and the enemy (opposition) are struggling to find their feet. However, some may say his (Rawlings) ante does not give a much respect to the Sitting president since he(Atta) is the party leader, of which hes obliged to assume a total supervisory role for the party. Instead Mr. Rawlings seem to have taken the leadership role by declaring war on Mills men in government and slice them on occasion such as one organised in his residence recently. In fact, when one reads the content of Rawlings speech it may look like a piece of advice or caution but much of it is contains trash of speeches which really did not merit any sort of a good leader or a good role model statesman. Of cause, The NDC youth leader Hlodze Ludwig has deny any wrong doing in being part of the indiscipline riders of the castle cars. Coupled to this, is that, Rawling seem to continuing giving wrong information of the on goings of the Mills administration which admittedly is not giving him that good reception by all. Even though, most people within the party are quiet and not responding hastily, Rawlings has been corrected by his own rivals such Kweku Baako who have descended heavily on the former president. The question is how long should Rawlings continue to act in a manner that does not deserve a place in the Ghana history? Fine, insiders may not query the former leader but it leaves much to be alarm of, if the members of the NDC do not sit their own founder down he may end up cracking the very thing he has built for over the 18years he is clamouring of. Insisting and pressuring the sitting president that He (Rawlings) has been in the castle seat for 18years is not something new for Atta Mills. He (Mills) Knows well and I believe indications in the country esp. The economy (Having Inflation down to 14.7%) speaks louder than what Rawlings seem to be touting about. Rawlings should rather spent the time praising what Mills has done over this few months and with little alertness message that would have done for the day but to go all the way trying to prove a point to the sitting president for him being on the throne for 18years. Is totally out of place and disrespectful and similarly acting like Arkaah in disguise. But for a mature president like Prof. Mills he will not act in the way that will jeopardise the partys fortunes come 2012 by stupidly acting the way He (Rawlings) did during his first administration. Atta Mills will adeptly handle Rawlings nuisance and make real good governance for all to follow in the country. Good to caution the president but dont make it look like the president is absolutely dead and not doing anything hence marshalling the oppositions machinery. Hey!...We are not sleepy dogs.the economy is thriving with inflation less than 15% much better than what was expected most sectors are doing very well sports , Industry and energy ministry are doing better job than when Kuffour was in power. That certainly, tell us a lot that President Atta Mills is doing better than he (Rawlings) and Kuffour were in power. From reliable sources, it was even in Rawlings administration that had more indiscipline officials than what we are now experiencing in Mills administration. Mills has been on the receiving end far too long and its time for him also gets some praises for what he has done for the country. It may look too early for such praises but in every castigation on a leader there should be some sort of positives that one must dwell on. This is why I am calling for honour rather than reprimanding the sitting president for what he is done so far. Its easy to criticise leaders but demands much courage to praise a president in the midst of global economy difficulty. Rawlings hot air blowing may be a disguise to help the party but he himself should be careful and should not take the sitting president for granted. He still got the executive powers and can make emergency decisions for the country. Thank you God Bless Ghana Long live Ghana and long live Democracy
