Ghanaians Confident Of Black Stars Victory Over Cameroon

Football fans are confident the Black Stars will beat Cameroon in the second Group F match after a disappointed draw against Benin, last Tuesday.

The Black Stars drew 2-2 with the Squirrels of Benin in the opening game of the Group F, in the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) at the Ismaili Sports Stadium in Egypt.

Coach Kwesi Appiah and his men would play their second game against the defending champions Cameroon on Saturday at the Ismaili Stadium, in Egypt in a game that would determine their future in the competition.

This was revealed in an interview conducted by the GNA Sports on Wednesday, at the Ministries and Tema Station, all in Accra.

Mr Justin Ambin, a student at Accra Technical University said, despite the disappointed draw against Benin, the Black Stars would bounce to defeat the Indomitable Lions of Cameroon on Saturday.

“I was disappointed by the results against Benin yesterday but I believed the players have learnt their lessons, so they would go all out to defeat Cameroon on Saturday,”he said.

Mr Amoako Gideon, a Commercial Driver at Tema Station added that “If we do our things well then we have a chance of beating Cameroun. The coach must drop the underperforming players and introduce better players in the next game.

Miss Evelyn Asamoah, a Trader at Mokola said, “it wouldn’t be easy to defeat the well composed Cameroonian team and they should target a draw. I have also noticed that the Black Stars always delivered when they meet the big countries, so I am confident”.

Nii Lamptey, a trader said, “there is no chance for the Black Stars against Cameroon, because I watched the Cameroonian opener and they are a strong and solid team.

“I would be surprised even if Ghana gets a draw in that game based on the performance we showed against Benin,” he said.

Cameroon tops Group F with three points after their defeating Guinea-Bissau 3-0 in their first group match on Tuesday.
