Surprise JJ Didnt Slap Me? Gina Blay queries

The CEO of Western Publications Limited, publishers of the Daily Guide newspaper, says her first and historic encounter with the Rawlingses on Tuesday would not in any way change the focus of her paper. Her paper has for years been critical of the former president and family. For instance, the paper is in court with the former First Lady, Nana Konadu Agyeman Rawlings, and has published numerous caricatures of the family. The Daily Guide is also largely seen as anti-NDC. Based on that most people never conceived the idea of Mrs Blay daring a close encounter with the former president, but that spell was exorcised yesterday when Gina Blay and her News Editor, A.R. Gomda stormed the Rawlings gutted residence to sympathize with the family for their loss. In a response to a question posed by Joy News Araba Koomson, Gina Blay remarked: You want to say it will be surprising that he didnt give me a slap for these caricatures? No. She noted that the papers policy is to carry the news as it iswhatever he says I have insisted is newsunfortunately, some people carry that to look as if we hated the Rawlingses, so they must hate us. It is not so, implying that there is no need for the two parties to mend any broken bridge. I was introduced to them as Gina Blay from Daily Guide and they said hi, hi, how are you? And we also said hi, how are you?... This is my first meeting with him as a journalist one on one with him and I think it was a very good, historic meeting for us on Daily Guide. Asked if that experience will change the papers style of writing on the family, she stated: We will carry the news as it is, as it unfolds all the time.
