New Chamber: ‘Intolerant’ Akufo-Addo Behind Arrest of Military Officer – Akamba

Joshua Hamidu Akamba of the NDC has tagged Ghana’s President, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo as an “intolerant” leader.

The NDC National Organizer alleged that the president was behind the arrest of a military officer seen in a viral video, kicking against the construction of a new chamber for parliament.

Speaking on NEAT FM’s morning show, Akamba said, “Nana Addo who is the Commander-in-chief of the army cannot use his position to frustrate us. The officer was arrested because he [President Nana Addo] gave the command.”

The Military High Command on Friday, July 5, 2019 arrested an Officer who is captured in a video demonstrating his displeasure against a decision to construct a new 450-seater chamber for parliament.

Identified as Lance Corporal Wassa, he is still being detained by the Military in violation of his fundamental freedom according to Joshua Akamba.
