MTN offered 500 K Job Opportunities to Ghanaians

Mr. Samuel Koranteng, the Corporate Service Executive of the leading Mobile Telecommunication Network in the country, MTN Ghana, has disclosed that, the company has offered over 500, 000 job opportunities to Ghanaians directly and indirectly.

He made this disclosure at an editors forum, in Koforidua.

“MTN Ghana being the most preferred network have provided about five hundred thousand job opportunities for Ghanaians in their quest to help reduce unemployment rate in the country”. He said.

The forum was to review the performance of the company of the previous years, and how MTN intends to help improve their services.

Mr. Koranteng said MTN Ghana has also contributed so much to national development after they were adjudged the largest tax payer in the country by the Ghana Revenue Authority having paid an amount of 1.84 billion to the GRA.

Mr. Samuel Koranteng, Corperate Service Executive of MTN Ghana added that, the company had become the most preferred network in the country and therefore needs to engage their customers on how to improve the quality of services.

According to him, MTN Ghana Foundation which was introduced in 2007 has spent a amount of 13.5 million on projects in the areas of Health, Education, economic empowerment and have subsequently won major awards particularly the Best CSR.

In furtherance, he coyed on fibre cuts as major challenge for the company as they try to abrogate issues regarding fibre cuts. He said the company is embarking on Nationwide tour to able to get the exact problem confronting them.

Again, he disclosed that the company is engaging road contractors to educate them on the fiber so whenever they are embarking on their activities they will inform MTN to relocate their network whereas the National Communication Authority has promised to help them in their own ways.

He indicated the cost of a fibre cut to be six hundred thousand and since the amount involve is so huge they have threatened to sue anyone who cut off their fibre.

Touching on the already registered sim card on market, he warned against the pre-registration of sim card, saying it is an offence to pre-register a sim card.

Mr. Mohammed Yakubu, Acting Regional Manager also entreated the public to patronise the MTN mobile money more to be able to get the opportunity to take the advantages surrounding MoMo

Meanwhile, advised the general public against fraudulent act which has being a challenge for customers and has indicated that if anyone receives a message purporting of winning an award he or she would take it as thrash as he believes they MTN have appropriate means of awarding their customers.

According to him, they have a unique number that they normally use when awarding customers as he believes they will not send ordinary message to their customers.

Finally advised Ghanaians to be very vigilant with regards to the mobile money fraud. As the company still fights criminals in that act.
