Sammy Awuku Declines Chieftaincy Offer As "Mampong Apagyahene"

NPP National Organiser and Board Chairman of the Youth Employment Agency (YEA), Sammy Awuku has declined an offer to be enstooled as "Mampong Apagyahene".

The enstoolment ceremony, organized by the Mampong Akuapem Traditional Council led by Osabarima Kwame Otu Dartey III Mamponghene and his sub-chiefs, is scheduled on Tuesday, September 10, 2019 at the Mampong Chief’s Palace at 10am.

Sammy Awuku is to be enstooled alongside Tema East MP, Titus Glover, who will be the "Mampong Asomkahene".

But the youth leader has announced in a Facebook post that his political career will not allow him to undergo the Chieftaincy process.

“I remain eternally grateful for your kind understanding of my current situation and inability to go through the chieftaincy process at this stage of my political development", he expressed.

He however pledged his commitment to the development of the area saying “I owe you alot and I will continue to support in whichever way I can in the development of the area...”

Many thanks to Nananom, the Traditional Council and the people of Mampong for your continuous show of love and support for me over the years as your son and kinsman.

I owe you alot and I will continue to support in which ever way I can in the development of the area.

I remain eternally grateful for your kind understanding of my current situation and inability to go through the chieftaincy process at this stage of my political development.

I am sure at the right time, God will make things beautiful for me and the narrative will change.

All the best to my senior brother, MP/Deputy Minister Hon. Titus Glover as you enter a new phase of your life tomorrow.
