Grandfather Of One of the Missing Taadi Girls Says His Granddaughter Is Not Dead But Is In Sowutuom, Contradicting Police DNA Findings

The announcement by the police that DNA tests have confirmed that the bodies found in the Western Region last month were the missing Taadi girls does not seem to have convinced anyone at all.

Some people are calling for an independent DNA test and even family members of the girls are refusing to accept that they are really dead.

According to Emmanuel Abeka, grandfather of Ruth Abeka, one of the girls, his grandchild isn’t dead.

Speaking with Citizen Kofi on Ahotor Fm, he claimed that he has been reliably informed that his grandchild was seen in Sowutuom in Accra so she cannot be dead as the police claims.

He also berated the police service for holding the press conference announcing the girl’s deaths without consulting their families first.

“The police IGP and his cohorts are very insensitive! How can you hold an issue like this without first consulting the immediate families?” he queried.

On the Super Morning Show today, Kojo Yankson revealed one of the fathers of the dead girls said they weren’t informed before the news was announced in the media.

The police’s handling of the entire case has been one mode of incompetence after another, and it’s not surprising that the families are not willing to accept their version of events.

The father of one of the girls says till now no one from the Police Service has officially notified them of the death of the girls. They heard the news on JoyNews.- Kojo Yankson #JoySMS
