UN Devt Prog, Others To Announce Commitments To Increase Insurance Protection In Climate-Exposed Countries

The United Nations Development Programme, German Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development, Insurance Development Forum, InsuResilience are hosting a high-level event in New York that will bring together leaders from G20 and V20 countries, the insurance and financial industry and development institutions in light of the urgency of improving climate risk management around the globe.

It will be a focused event to celebrate and promote the partnership across the insurance/development community through the announcement of specific commitments between public and private sectors.

These commitments will be focused on delivering and accelerating solutions that build greater understanding of risk, deepen resilience and ensure that growth, prosperity and development are protected, and increasingly risk-informed.

The commitments made during the event contribute to the objectives of the resilience and adaptation track of the Climate Action Summit, that focuses on advancing global efforts to address and manage the impacts and risks of climate change, particularly in those communities and nations that are most vulnerable.
