NPP Primaries: Lawyer Prince Appiah Debrah Wins Klottey Korley Constituency (PHOTOS)

Lawyer Prince Appiah Debrah has been elected Parliamentary candidate for Klottey Korley constituency in the Greater Accra Region, on the ticket of the New Patriotic Party (NPP).

He polled 511 votes against his contender Mr. Harry Harold Quatey who got 300 out of 814 of the total votes cast representing 90.34% in the party's parliamentary Primaries for orphan constituencies.

Addressing a gathering following his victory, Lawyer Prince Appiah Debrah pledged to take the seat from the incumbent Member of Parliament for the constituency, Zanetor Rawlings; come 2020.

"For two years now we have been digging the ground...this victory is for NPP...Zenator we are coming after you with a lot of zeal, with vim...gety ready becasue from now on there will be no more fractions in this party," he stated.

He was confident to clinch victory for the NPP in the constituency during the December 2020 Parliamentary elections.

To him, leaders in the NPP should be chosen based on merit and competence.
"Candidates will be chosen on merit, ability and service to God and country. It's not going to be about what your name is, where you come from and who your godfather is. Meritocracy, that's what the NPP is all about," he stressed.

He therefore called on the party supporters to unite solidly behind the party stating that the NPP can only win the seat if there is unity.

“…this is the time for unity, peace, love and hardwork to capture the seat from the NDC because if we are united I know victory will be ours in 2020,” he said.

Lawyer Debrah also expressed his profound gratitude to all delegates for the trust they reposed on him.

His contender Mr. Harry Harold Quatey conceded defeat and pledged his unflinching support for Lawyer Debrah.

The election was successful under the supervision of officials of the Electoral Commission and personnel from the Ghana Police Service.
