Presbyterian Church of Ghana Donates GH₵301,000 To PRESEC, Legon

The Presbyterian Church of Ghana, (PCG) has donated an amount of Three Hundred and one Thousand Ghana cedis (GH₵301,000) to the Presbyterian Boys Senior High School, Legon Accra to support the ICT LabProject of the school.

Presenting the cheque to the Headmaster of the School, Mr. David Odjidja on Thursday 3rd October 2019 at the Head Office of the PCG, the Moderator of the General Assembly of the PCG, Rt. Rev Prof. Joseph Obiri Yeboah Mante reiterated the Church’s commitment to its educational institutions and promised that other institutions of the Church would also receive similar financial support in due course.

The Moderator said PRESEC is the number one SHS of the PCG and also one of the best schools in the country and therefore reminded the Headmaster and his Staff not to rest on their laurels but rather work hard to be on the top at all times.

“Don’t compete with any school in Ghana, but rather those outside Ghana and strive to be best in the West Africa Sub-Region,” Rt. Rev Prof. Joseph Obiri Yeboah Mante urged.

The Moderator congratulated the School for being second in the 2019 Science and Mathematics Quiz Competition. He urged them to prepare well and win the competition next year.

The Chairperson of the Ga Presbytery of the PCG, Rev Dr Victor Okoe Abbey said the Church is doing a lot for the School.

He mentioned that the Presbytery is currently constructing two separate bungalows for the Chaplains of the School. He said the two projects would be completed in November this.

The Headmaster of the school, thanked the Church for the donation and promised to use it for the intended purpose.

Mrs. Rose Helen Ankrah a member of the Board of the School commended the Church for the donation and noted that it would correct the erroneous impression that the Church is not supporting the School enough.

Present at the short ceremony were Rev Dr Godwin Nii Noi Odonkor, Clerk Elect of the General Assembly of PCG, members of the Board of the School, staff, some directors at the Head Office and the Public Relations Officer of the Church.
