Incompetence In Opposition Is Deadly – Okyem Aboagye To NDC

NPP Member of Parliament (MP) for Bantama Constituency in the Ashanti Region, Hon. Daniel Okyem Aboagye, has urged former President John Dramani Mahama and members of the opposition party to desist from creating fear and panic in the country.

According to him, being in "opposition should never be seen as a do or die affair".

His comment follows on the heels of assertions by former President Mahama that the ruling party is training thugs to disrupt the 2020 polls.

At a meeting with executives of the Ghana Journalists Association (GJA) the former President claim to have in his possession, a letter from the Upper West Regional Security Council requesting some members of the ruling party to be present for combat training for next year's election.

The former president also stated that after a follow-up on that letter, it has emerged that the NPP has sent these executives to Asutuare in the Greater Accra Region to be trained, and therefore fears the ruling party's action could potentially destabilized the country.

But reacting to the news on Peacefm panel discussion ‘Kokrokoo’, Hon Okyem Aboagye emphatically dismissed the allegation and advised NDC to be more responsible in opposition.

Even in opposition, we expect NDC to be responsible because incompetence in opposition is deadly…they should stop creating fear and panic in the country…,” he said.
