World Cup Ticket Sales 'Slow' In Ghana

Ghana have recorded poor sales of World Cup tickets with less than 100 days remaining to the opening match in South Africa. The Ghana Football Association revealed that only 500 fans have paid for their tickets out of the 1940 applicants. Fred Crentsil, an Executive Ghana FA member in charge of World Cup ticket sales, fears the unpaid applicants might have their bookings cancelled. "Fifa did give them ten days within which to pay but I did write to Fifa to ask for an extension but up to date people have still not paid for their tickets. I believe that Fifa will come back very soon and say that those who have not paid for their tickets will have their tickets cancelled," Crenstil said. It is feared that African football fans will be priced out of the 2010 World Cup finals due to high cost of match tickets.
