Take Football Away From Politics – Nduom To New GFA Boss

Chairman of Groupe Nduom, Dr Papa Kwesi Nduom has charged the newly-elected president of the Ghana Football Association (GFA), Mr Kurt Okraku, to “take our football away from politics.”

The owner of Elmina Sharks FC and The Sea Lions FC, has further pleaded for a quick return of the Ghana Premier League “undiluted by the interests of those who have no responsibility to invest in playing fields, players and FC organisation”.

Contained in a congratulatory message to Mr Okraku, Dr Nduom said the position comes with a big challenge.

According to Dr Nduom, Mr Okraku as a premier club owner knows the evils of fan violence, poor officiating, bribery and low to no revenues to the clubs and therefore “must lead to raise standards all around, especially the quality of play.”

Dr Nduom noted that If fair play rules and the matches are entertaining, the fans will pay to watch adding that on the shoulders of the new GFA president rest the responsibility to find sponsors and revenues so that the clubs can pay the players well.
