Minister Cuts Sod For Construction Of Atebubu-Kumfia-Fakwasi Road

The Bono East Regional Minister/Member of Parliament representing the people of Atebubu-Amantin Hon.Kofi Amoakohene on Wednesday, 26th November 2019 cut the sod for the construction of the Atebubu-Kumfia-Fakwasi road in the Bono East region.

The 47 miles road will link Atebubu to Nkoranza Township.

The project is expected to be completed in one year time.

Hon.Kofi Amoakohene disclosed this at Fakwasi during the sod cutting ceremony.

He said funding has been secured for the execution of the project.


“Roads make a crucial contribution to economic development, growth and bring important social benefits.

In order to make a nation grow and develop, roads are of vital status. For these reasons, road infrastructure is one of the most important of all public assets.

In addition, providing access to employment, social, health and education services make a road network crucial in fighting against poverty.

Roads open up more areas and stimulate economic and social development” Hon.Kofi Amoakohene stated.

“We need to construct good roads so that agricultural products and minerals can move easily between the producing areas in region and markets in the surrounding areas.

It will also ease the challenge drivers go through when plying the road.

The overjoyed inhabitants of Kumfia,Fakwasi and other communities hailed president Akufo-Addo and the Minister,Hon.Kofi Amoakohene and thanked him for his lobbying skills, saying at long last, “the dust inhaling regime is going to be over”

The sod cutting ceremony was graced by the Chief of Atebubu Traditional area, Traditional area, Opinion leaders, Assembly members, regional highways engineer, Npp Party executives among others.

The Chief of Fakwasi, Nana Effah Pipim II commended Npp government.

According to him they are most grateful to them for fulfilling to their campaign promise made to them.
