OmniBSIC Bank Embark On Maiden Health Walk After Merger

OmniBSIC Bank over the weekend took to some principal streets of Accra to embark on a maiden health walk as part of their activities to complete its merger process.

The health walk under the theme: “At Your Service”, was organized by the Bank to champion the need for staff to exercise regularly to promote healthy living and also to create corporate bond after a successful merger.

It will be recalled that OmniBank Ghana Limited and Sahel Sahara Bank, Ghana Limited (BSIC) announced the completion of a merger process this year, March 4, 2019, to operate under the merged name OmniBSIC Bank Ghana Limited.

In a statement released on March 4, 2019, they explained that the merger was necessitated by the need to increase capital to meet the new Bank of Ghana Minimum Capital Requirement of GHS 400 million.

“The merger represents a pooling of the expertise of two major banks with strengths in various banking services to provide more opportunities, increase access and make the merged entity attractive to the banking public,” the release about the merger stated.

It was under this auspicious successful merger that the bank brought together over 200 Management, employees and customers to embark on a seven-kilometer walk which commenced at El Wak Stadium and ended at the La Pleasure Beach for aerobics.

Speaking to the Executive Director of OmniBSIC Bank, Philip Oti-Mensah, he explained that the health walk was organized to mark a new beginning after the merger.

According to him, the health walk symbolizes unity and their readiness to start working towards a vision of becoming the number one bank in customer service in Ghana.
