More Than 250 People Benefit From Myhelp-Yourhelp Foundation’s Free Health Screening Exercise

On Farmers’ day the 6th of December, 2019, the Executives and the Medical Team (Doctors, Nurses, Physiotherapists and Lab Technicians) of My Help-Your Help Foundation organized a Free Health Screening Exercise at the Junction Mall, Nungua Barrier, Accra specially targeted at the indigenes of the community and the general public.

MyHelp -YourHelp Foundation is a Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) that aims at lessening the burden of the poor, needy and less privileged (orphans and widows) in our society by improving their socio-economic state through nurturing, education, training and development with a growing membership of about 150 people who are mainly health professionals (doctors, nurses), bankers, accountants, lawyers, auditors, police officers, pastors amongst others. The Foundation has helped many orphans across orphanage homes through donations, health screening exercises and financial assistance to the youth through artisanal training and investments.

The poignant mission of MyHelp -Your Help Foundation is to mobilize resources both internally and externally in aid of reaching out to the needy and less privileged in the society with a core mandate to nurture, educate, train and develop the less privileged.

As part of its activities in giving back to the society, the Foundation decided to health screen individuals and the general public freely with the belief that if people are aware of their health status, they would live longer as they would be guided by their life style choices such as what to eat and not what to, when to sleep and to visit the hospital etc. Many great minds, rich and poor people who could be living today died prematurely ignorant of their health status and did nothing to help themselves in time.

The Health Screening was aimed at;

·  Raising awareness and publicity towards our Christmas project (part of our bi-annual events at the Royal Seed Orphanage, Bawjiase, Kasoa and to solicit for funds from the general public.

· Screening many indigenes of the surrounding districts that may not be able to afford to visit the hospital.

· Screening people who do not just have the means to regularly check themselves on simple tests like Blood Pressure, Blood Sugar et al which often are the major triggers to most deadly or almost incurable sicknesses or diseases like Cancers, Cardiac Arrest and the like.

Some of the medical tests that were ran on the day included Hypertension (Blood Pressure), Diabetes (Blood Sugar), Hepatitis B, BMI among others.

Myhelp-Yourhelp Foundation recommends that people get themselves checked regularly so as to avoid certain sicknesses that can lead to early loss of lives.
