IMANIFESTO Rating: "Our Figure Of 72% Is The Accurate One...IMANI’s 48% Wrong" - Prez

President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has strongly disputed policy think tank IMANI Africa’s recent score of 48% with regards to the fulfillment of the NPP's 2016 manifesto promises.

Addressing the media at the Jubilee House on Friday, 13 December, 2019, for the third time since becoming President, Nana Akufo-Addo dismissed suggestions that his administration is "sleeping" on the job.

I disagree with the 48 per cent assessment....We are working with a figure of 72 per cent,” he stated.

IMANI Figures

Imanifesto is a progress report which seeks to validate the promises made by the NPP in the run-up to the 2020 polls and how many of those promises have been accomplished three years on.

It assessed areas of governance, economy, social sector, infrastructure and human capital investment.

IMANI gave the 48.78% in its 2019 Imanifesto report.

The policy think tank also scored the government 54.35% for its handling of the economy. The manifesto assessments by IMANI which was outdoored Wednesday, said government has only implemented 41 out of the 162 promises it made in the party’s 2016 manifesto.

Fundamental Disagreement

But it appears IMANI's rating of the ruling party's fulfillment of its manifesto promises has not gone down well with the President, who believes his administration is on track.

“So, we have a fundamental disagreement on the figure. Our figure, our assessment is the accurate one,” President Akufo-Addo added.
