Mr Anthony Boateng, the Deputy Director General of the Ghana Education Service (GES), says government is cognizant of the efforts by teachers to develop the human resource base of the country and will ensure their sacrifices are not in vain.

He said because of the double track due to the Free Senior High School Policy, teachers were going the extra mile to keep up with the system.

He said such efforts would, in the long term, enhance human resource development for the growth of the nation.

Mr Boateng said this when he addressed teaching and non-teaching staff of the Konongo Odumasi Senior High School at an event organised by the Old Students Association to show appreciation to their alma mater.

He commended the staff for their immense contribution towards moving the school from Category B to A.
Justice Baffoe Bonnie, a Supreme Court Judge, on behalf of the Alumni, presented six double-door refrigerators to the school and called on management to ensure they were maintained to prolong their lifespan.

Right Reverend Professor Osei Safo-Kantanka, the Methodist Bishop of Kumasi and an alumnus, in his a motivational message, expressed satisfaction with the performance of the staff and students and urged them to continue with the hard work.

He said the efforts by the teachers would yield good results and urged them to make the wellbeing of students their priority.

Dr Benjamin Kweku Baah, Headmaster of the School, said he was happy with the cooperation of the teachers in his efforts towards rebranding the School.

He commend the old students for their immense support to improve teaching and learning.
