Love, Peace And Unity Among Ghanaians Are Critical For Elections - Bawumia

Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia on Tuesday, December 31, 2019, joined Congregants of the Kaneshie Presbyterian Church of Ghana for the Watchnight Service to usher in the New Year.

It was all joy when Vice President Bawumia, adorned in all-white attire, was ushered into the forecourt of the Church premises with the popular Oye Song.

He was accompanied by Mr Mohammmed Adjei Sowah, the Chief Executive Officer of Accra Metropolitan Assembly, Mr Ebenezer Gilbert Nii Narh Nartey, Member of Parliament for Ablekuma Central and Mr Michael Omari Wadie, the Third Vice Chairman of the New Patriotic Party.

The ecstatic Congregants, most of whom were in white outfits, danced to the music, amidst singing and dancing to the glory of God.

Vice President Bawumia, in a brief remark, urged Ghanaians to exhibit the virtues of peace, unity and love for the good of the nation, saying that the country could not afford to be plunged into chaos and anarchy because of an election.

“This has become even more imperative as 2020 is an election year, and there is, therefore, the need for tolerance and fellow-feeling to militate against any negativity that might arise in the heat of the political season,” he noted.

Dr Bawumia entreated all and sundry to pray for a successful election for Ghanaians to elect leaders of their choice.
He said peace was synonymous with development and all should endeavour to safeguard the prevailing peace and harmony for accelerated growth.

Reverend Enoch Adjei Pobee, the District Minister of Kaneshie Presbyterian Church, giving the sermon on the theme, “Behold, they sent an Angel before him”, said God ordered his angels to prepare a way for his children who diligently seek him.

He, therefore, entreated Christians and Ghanaians to be obedient to the word of God to attain greater heights in 2020.
“The promise of the Lord is that in 2020, the Lord will send an angel for you who is going to direct your path.

“As we go into 2020, I know God has prepared something special for the nation Ghana and we must be obedient to him at all times,” Rev. Pobee advised.

He encouraged Ghanaians to contribute their quota to support government’s efforts in developing the nation, saying; “God has promised to meet our needs, but we must also do our part”.
