CHAN Squad To Camp In Tamale

Twenty-five home-based Black Stars players will begin camping in Tamale on Tuesday for this weekend's CHAN final round first leg Zone West B qualifier at Burkina Faso. Head coach Herbert Addo believes the climatic conditions in the Northern part of Ghana are similar to that of Ouagadougou, venue for the match. The team will test their readiness with some lower division sides before leaving for the encounter. Ghana's squad is without duo goalkeepers Daniel Agyei and Philemon McCarthy who were with the senior team at the Africa Cup of Nations in Angola. Midfielders Jordan Opoku and Edmund Owusu-Ansah are the only survivors from the squad that won silver at the maiden edition in Ivory Coast last year. The next edition of the African Nations Championship (CHAN) tournament will be held in Sudan next year.
