Japan Will Continue To Support Ghana In Skills Development - Japanese Ambassador To Ghana

The Japanese Ambassador to Ghana, His Excellency Tsutomu Himeno, has said the government of Japan will continue to support Ghana in the area of continuous skills development to help promote the development of the country.

His Excellency Tsutomu Himeno gave the assurance today (Wednesday) when he paid a courtesy call on the Chairman of the Committee on Foreign Affairs of Parliament and MP for Nsawam/Adoagyiri, Frank Annoh-Dompreh in Accra.

His Excellency Tsutome Himenu said skills development is key to national development hence Japan is keen to support Ghana in that regard.

According to the Ambassador, Japan is also offering scholarship to Ghanaian students to pursue a two-year Masters Degree Program in Japan as part of efforts to promote the human resource development of Ghana.

On the upcoming election on December 7th this year, His Excellency Tsutome Himenu was confident that Ghana will have a peaceful election.

Frank Annoh-Dompreh commended the government of Japan for its numerous support to the country such as the construction of the ongoing Tema interchange project, support to rice farmers and education.

He appealed to the government of Japan to give financial and technical support for the development of the railway sector in the country such as the Nsawam-Accra and Accra-Akosombo rail projects.

Hon Annoh-Dompreh was delighted that the government of Japan is taking steps to establish an office in Ghana to play host to a number of policies and programmes of the Japanese government.

Hon Frank Annoh-Dompreh on behalf of the committee on Foreign Affairs of Parliament as well as the Speaker of Parliament, Rt Hon Prof Michael Aaron Oquaye thanked His Excellency Tsutome Himenu for his visit.
