Bono East: Government Launches Prodesop Projects To Improve Activities And Lives Of Fishermen's At Pru West

Government of Ghana through deputy local government minister has launched a program known as "Promoting access of indigenous people to decent work and social protection (PRODESOP) projects at Pru West and East all in the Bono East region aiming to improve the activities of fishermen's and also reduce poverty at the area.

The project which is funded by the European Union is aiming to give jobs to two thousand five hundred (2,500) youths at the area after completion.

Speaking at the laughing, Deputy local government minister ,Hon. Collins Ntim explained that, President Akufo-Addo has a vision of providing jobs to all Ghanaians that's why he has introduced so many policies to support youths in the country to reduce unemployment and poverty.

He said this government has introduced programs such as Planting for food and jobs, planting for export and rural development, one district, one factory etc, which indicates that this government has farmers in it's heart.

He charged all those who will benefits from the project to take their work seriously so that they can get their daily bread since the European Union is using people taxes to support the program.

Again Bono East regional minister, Hon Kofi Amoakohene also gave an assurance that this government will keep on supporting farmers especially fishermen's in the country.

He said all the disabilities at the area are also going to benefit from the projects as they are going provides them with free fish pounds as par of incentives of the project.

The Paramount Chief of Prang Traditional council,Nana Kwadwo Nyarko III also  commended the government and European Union for bringing such projects to his area to reduce poverty.

He advised the authorities who will be in charge of the project to be faithful to European Union so that they can bring more when they see much improvement in the lives of fishermen's at the area.

Madam, Gladys G.W Tetteh who is the deputy executive director for PRODESOP also gave an assurance that they will help to reduce poverty at various communities.

The district chief executive for pru west,Stephen Jalulah also commended the government and appealed to the people of Pru west to support it's policies.
