Outstanding Ministers And CEOs In 2019

The Association of Aides to Regional Chairmen of the New Patriotic Party rates these Ministers and Managing Directors/CEOs
of the Akufo-Addo led government as the most outstanding performers in the 2019 fiscal year.

The fair and unbiased rating system is primarily based on standards of performance in the year under review. The metrics
include effective leadership style, accessibility, positive news reportage, and effective interaction with grassroots in all 16
regions of Ghana.

Again, it is emphasized that all other ministers and CEOs equally performed creditably well such that it was a very challenging and
hectic task for the group to distinguish the outstanding performers but for the unbiased methodology employed. Just to
mention a few, the Education minister, Roads and Highways, Railway minister, Health minister were all exceptional ministers as
the results were very close.

The research also collated views from the grassroots throughout the 16 regions and 275 constituencies. The study targeted 90,000
respondents, but an average of 320 respondents effectively participated in each constituency. The outcome of the survey is
shared in the next paragraphs.

Hon. Owusu Afriyie Akoto (Minister for Food and Agriculture)

His spectacular delivery on the PFJ programme was rated highest. It would be recalled that his leadership at the Agric ministry
brought Ghana enough food, not to the homes of farmers only but also local markets. This impacted food prices significantly.
News houses reported the rare incidence of rice yields being in abundance, which necessitated the president to issue a fiat for
the consumption of local rice in all the state institutions.

Through his able leadership, Ghana is now experiencing food exports. He also organized focused group discussions with
farmers from time to time to know their challenges and create workable and timely solutions. These are but a few factors
underlying his top rating and success at the ministry.

Congratulations Dr. Akoto.

Hon. John Peter Amewu (Minister for Energy)

He received superb rating on his excellent management of the PDS-ECG crisis both in the media and the sector. Another
factor which brought him to the topmost five is the stable power supply that the country has enjoyed under his tenure.
By dint of hardwork, the Energy sector has not dominated the news in terms of bad press unlike we have known it to be.

It is almost forgotten that Ghana ever experienced severe power crisis as the situation has significantly improved. His singular
dynamism in core competences of power sector management and the cordial but effective media relations brought Hon.
Amewu among the 2019 best performing ministers. Johnny, we are proud of you.

Hon. Kojo Oppong Nkrumah (Minister of Information )

He is undoubtedly the most visible and outstanding minister by virtue of his portfolio. However, his unique but endearing
communication style, social appeal, demonstration of exceptional leadership qualities and innovations in government
policy and results communication such as the regular Meet-The-Press, Policy Fair, etc. enabled him to outperform
others based on the unbiased methodology.

His name came up strongly among the future faces of the party as well as parliament. His debating skills were also rated highly. We congratulate Hon. Oppong and we appreciate his good works for mother Ghana.
