Airbus Scandal: Outcome Of Martin Amidu’s Investigation Will Be Same - NPP MP

Member of Parliament for Assin Central Constituency in the Central Region, Hon. John Nti Fordjour says the Special Prosecutor, Martin Amidu’s investigation into the Airbus bribery scandal will not be different from the findings of other countries.

According to him, a lot of countries have done investigations into the Airbus scandal and just as in all the findings the Government Official 1 and Intermediary 5 kept running through, Martin Amidu’s investigation will not produce anything different from what has been reported.

Speaking on Okay FM’s Ade Akye Abia Morning Show, Hon. Nti Fordjour insisted that “I don’t think he [Amidu] has any other option than to do what we are all expecting from him to reach the destination where we will find the names behind Government Official 1 and Intermediary 5 and make sure the laws of the land deal with them”.

Touching on the issue that Martin Amidu could not investigate the Airbus scandal due to his involvement as Attorney-General then, Hon. Nti Fordjour said that the Special Prosecutor has the mandate to deliver to Ghanaians inasmuch as the contract moved from his department as Attorney-General to the Presidency.

…there has been corruption or money exchanging hands before Government Official 1 took the decision to purchase the aircraft. There has been money inducement which influenced the decision to purchase the aircraft which Airbus paid $3.9 billion”, he asserted.
