SONA 2020: Minority Boycott Shambolic…I challenge them to boycott election 2020 – Mame Yaa Aboagye

The Deputy Communication Director of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP), Mame Yaa Aboagye has descended heavily on Minority in Parliament over their dramatic boycott of this year’s State Of the Nation Address [SONA] without giving any ‘tangible’ reason.

To her, Minority’s attitude was shambolic and wandered if they will still go on Radio and Television stations to rebut what was said during the 2020 SONA by Nana Addo.

Her comments come after Minority in Parliament on Thursday, 20th February 2020 staged a walkout immediately after the president, His Excellency Nana Akufo-Addo entered the chamber to give his address.

Reacting to what she describes as a worse off attitude of the minority, she explained that the action of the Minority was not just wrong but unpatriotic adding “SONA is a very serious business of the nation and as a matter of fact owe the people of Ghana especially the electorate the duty of accountability, so why stage a walkout,” she asked.

She also expressed worry over how the attitude of Minority's has disgraced the Nation before the international community.

“It is high time we uphold our nations in high esteem against all odds...lets us show love to this nation and stop exposing our partisan political passions and need to be in power with its unnecessary political propaganda everywhere.

We need to move forward as a nation and not to do anything that will deter it. I also challenge them to boycott election 2020 if they so wish,” she stressed.
