Don't Give Minority Chance To Debate SoNA After Walkout - Tema West MP Tells Media
Deputy Minister for Trade and Industry, Carlos Kingsley Ahenkorah has described actions exhibited by minority Members of Parliament (MP) at last Thursday's State of the Nation Address as disgraceful to their party.
He said reasons for their action whiles President Akufo-Addo was about to deliver the State of the Nation Address [SONA] does not merit expectations their electorates expect from them.
“What has the EC’s new voter register got to do with us or the President to warrant a walk out when SONA is being read by the first gentleman of the land?” he asked.
In an interview on UTV’s ‘Adekye Nsroma’ newspaper discussion segment, the Tema West MP argued that minority Members of Parliament will never discuss the 2020 SONA anywhere if they had shame.
He wondered why most of them tuned in to listen to the address on radio and watched on television when they had decided to walk out.
" . . I blame the media, because you shouldn't even give the one who didn't listen to the address the chance to debate.
“ . . If you had any shame, what you didn't sit to listen, you won't debate on it,” he argued.
