Apostle Rtd Adobrah Urges Youth Not To Allow Politicians Use Them In Upcoming Elections

The former Director of the Children’s Ministry of THE CHURCH OF PENTECOST, Prophet Benjamin Augustus Adobah (Rtd) has urged the youth not to avail themselves to politicians during the upcoming elections.

According to him, they should work hard and use the period fruitfully to earn a decent living for themselves.

Prophet Adobah was speaking at Christian Leadership Foundation Public Lecture on exemplary leadership held in Accra.

The event was under the theme, “Exemplary Leadership in Public Administration: God’s Way” was crafted to nurture ethical and diligent leaders whose leadership is guided by Biblical principles and not by the whims and caprices of men.

Apostle Adobrah also appealed to Political parties to ensure that 2020 election is free, fair, and devoid of political violence.

He also appealed to party communicators to shun the politics of insult, guard against the use of defamatory words and ethnocentric statements during elections campaigns “to help the country sustain the peace that we have enjoyed as a nation”.

Also in a speech delivered on behalf of the founder and Chairman, Apostle Francis Ofori Yeboah stated that Leadership is a calling and that Christian leadership foundation believes the places of work and change the paradigm, shakeup the status quo to bring about a new wave of leadership that presents Godly examples for others to follow adding “It is possible and I firmly believe that it begins with those present in this room.

To him leadership as defined by Cambridge Dictionary as being in control of a group, country or a situation is to give the ability to one to be able to control and influence the affairs of men.

“The critical question raised here is, in our excise of control or influence, are we setting good examples? Are we being exemplary in our actions? Being exemplary means being good examples for others to imitate and follow in our footsteps…Paul in 1st Corinthians 11:1 was able to tell others to imitate him as he had imitated our perfect example, Christ Jesus. How many of us can be confident enough to ask others to imitate us as Paul did?,” he quizzed.

Stressing he said, “Often times when we turn on our television sets, pick our mobile devices or tune in to many of our radio stations to listen to or read the happenings across the country and across the globe, we are met with the many instances of abuse of power. The news items increasingly flood our airwaves and paint a gloomy picture of the state of many of our public institutions that were birthed to serve the people.

One may argue that these reports do not paint the true picture on the ground but walk into any of our public institutions and the men and women who ought to provide services to the people, require that you grease their palms  or present the popular “brown envelop’ before you can have the service provided for you. Where then lies the exemplary leadership?
