John Dumelo Braids Hair, Pounds Fufu For Votes

The 2020 elections is fast approaching, hence some politicians have resorted to political style strategies most people brand as deception.

Although political parties follow blueprints such as manifestos to guide their campaign, some individual politicians adopt a populace approach to win their votes at all cost.

Ghanaian actor-turned-politician, John Dumelo, is hoping to be the Member of Parliament for Ayawaso West Wuogon constituency on the ticket of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), and his style of campaign has been branded 'deceitful' by some members of the constituency.

One constituent condemned the actor by observing that "African politics is indeed something else considering the extent aspirants can go basically for votes as in the case of John Dumelo. On a normal day, John Dumeo will never pound fufu even for his landlord, but in the name of votes, he’s doing it with ultimate happiness. We won't vote for him."

In photos posted on his social media platforms, the NDC parliamentary candidate is seen braiding the hair of one female student on University of Ghana main campus and pounding fufu on his door-to-door campaign.

Ever since he announced his political career, the actor has engaged in several things solely for voters.

In October 2019, he was sighted on the streets of Accra pushing what is commonly known as ‘borla’ truck during a cleanup exercise.

The actor announced his desire to go into politics and consequently, he recently won the slot for the NDC’s 2020 parliamentary candidate for Ayawaso West Wougon.

He will be facing a tougher competition from Madam Lydia Alhassan who is the incumbent MP on the ticket of the New Patriotic Party.
