Fasting And Prayers With Partisan Lenses Will Lead Nowhere - Sammy Awuku

A clarion call on gone out to all Ghanaians to put aside their political differences and go before their Maker with a clear conscience devoid of personal interest.

National Organizer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Sammi Awuku, wants Ghanaians to seek the face of God through fervent prayers and fasting as directed by the President; but with a caveat.

To him, if Ghanaians approach the act of "fasting and prayers with partisan lenses, our prayers will go nowhere" adding that it is for this reason why "the ruling party believes our brothers in the NDC could have still made their input without setting up the rapid response team.”

NDC COVID-19 Response Team

The opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), through its flagbearer, John Mahama, on Sunday, March 22, 2020, stated that as evidence of their commitment to assisting the government in the fight against the Coronavirus pandemic, have set up a technical team to spearhead the affairs of the national action plan.

I have also already announced that the National Democratic Congress (NDC) is committed to assisting government in this fight by availing all technical and logistical resources at our disposal. As evidence of our seriousness in that respect, we have assembled a technical team to guide our efforts and to lead the NDC’s response to the evolving situation. The team is an assembly of experts from the many fields that will be required to implement a national action plan on COVID-19,” Mahama reportedly said.

Contributing to Peace FM’s "Kokrokoo", Sammy Awuku emotionally stated that “if we all can go on our knees with a pure heart and love for one another to observe the national day of fasting there is a huge possibility that our prayers are going to be heard by God.”
