COVID-19: Ghana Is Making Progress In The Fight - Dr Nsiah-Asare

President Akufo-Addo’s health Advisor, Dr. Anthony Nsiah-Asare has announced that Ghana is making progress in the fight against the novel coronavirus in spite of the fact that there is no vaccine for the treatment of the virus.

According to him, the method used to track the progress of the country in the fight against the COVID-19 depends on the happenings in other countries as compared to the situation in the country, and also by paying attention to the directives of the World Health Organization and those who are constantly researching about the disease.

Speaking on Okay FM’s 'Ade Akye Abia' Morning Show, Dr. Nsiah-Asare made it clear that the global pandemic is a novel case which the world is learning from each other to find a solution to the problem.

“We are making progress in the fight against COVID-19. Whatever we do, we use science and so we look at what has happened and the people who are making progress in the fight as well as what is happening in other countries; this is a novel case which has affected the whole world and so we are all learning and we are paying attention to WHO and also rely on our leaders who research on the disease,” he indicated.

According to him the most important aspect of the disease is the prevention and that is why the Health Ministry have been advising on social distancing, personal hygiene and the usage of running water and soap to wash hands regularly and also using alcohol-based hand sanitizers.

The former Director-General of Ghana Health Service educated the public that even though the COVID-19 is a novel case, the virus is a bit lazy to the extent that it does not require a special soap to do the hand washing.

He stressed that any soap with running water is what every Ghanaian needs to wash their hands constantly to protect themselves against the novel coronavirus.
