On This Day, Four Years Ago, Kobe Bryant Played His Last Game in the NBA.

It’s been just over two months since Kobe Bryant, his daughter Gianna and seven others tragically passed away in a helicopter accident. Many memories of the Los Angeles Lakers legend have been reflected on since, but today happens to be the four-year anniversary of a very special one.

In his final NBA game on April 13, 2016 against the Utah Jazz, Bryant dropped 60 points -- including 23 in the fourth quarter -- to erase a 15-point deficit and lead the Lakers to a 101-60 victory. He became the oldest player to score 60 or more points in a game at 37 years and 234 days old.

"The perfect ending would have been a championship," Bryant said after the game with a smile, via the Associated Press. "But tonight was (me) trying to go out, play hard and try to put on a show as much as I possibly could. It felt good to be able to do that one last time."
