Achiase District Extends Water Services To Promote Hand Washing

In order to ensure effective hand washing as one of the ways to prevent the spread of COVID-19, the Achiase District Assembly is undertaking water extension project to various communities in the District.

This was disclosed by Mr Richmond Amponsah, the Achiase District Chief Executive in an interview with the Ghana News Agency (GNA) at Achiase in the Eastern Region.

He said the Assembly had completed the construction of boreholes at Kodadwen and Enso Nyame Ye, and the Community Water and Sanitation Department was also undertaking water projects at Anyinam Kotoku and Akenkansu to provide people in the area with portable water.

The DCE explained that to prevent the spread of COVID-19 in the District, the District Assembly had mounted check points at all the entry points to the District, where temperatures of all entrants would be checked.

The Achiase District Assembly had also constructed Community Health Planning Services (CHPS) Compounds at Nyankomase, Osorase and Duokon.
