COVID-19 Lessons: Kabila Waxes Lyrical About Selflessness & Sacrifice!

"Let's love one another. Let's be selfless and sacrifice," James Kwabena Bomfeh, Acting General Secretary and current Director of Elections for the Convention People's Party (CPP), offers life lessons one has to live with in this season of COVID-19.

Indeed, the world is not in normal times as Coronavirus has bitten economies so hard. We're living in a world today where death is closer to life than ever as millions of people across the globe has contracted the virus.

This novel disease is a matter of life and death, nonetheless its impact is to teach every person lessons of a lifetime. The world has got to learn the truth now but the hard way!

The question therefore arises; what have you learned from this life threatening pandemic?

According to Kwabena Bomfeh, affectionately called Kabila, the COVID-19 pandemic has shown there is no permanent situation and therefore a person cannot be fully prepared for all eventualities.

"Despite your riches, properties, calibre or your portfolio in society; something can happen and none of these can really save you. In fact, there could be an occurence that no matter the amount of money you have, you can't buy what you desire because it's not available. I don't think we are learning these lessons," he outlined.

He consequently urged people not to manipulate each other self-aggrandizement because no one knows tomorrow.

He further rebuked persons who have decided to take advantage of the current situation and exploit their fellow humans just to enrich themselves.

Referring particularly to traders who have suddenly increased food prices and other commodities, especially essential commodities that may help a person to avoid being infected by the virus; Kabilla sermonized them to desist from such habit adding it is even in times of difficulties that "we all need each other".

"COVID-19 has exposed our world that there is no economy that is strong enough to resist pandemics. The entire world has been thrown ajar. We have all seen that there are limitations as to what we can claim as our strength and so forth."

"Let's be obedient. Let's love one another. Let's be selfless and sacrifice, and also mind our tongue because it's not everything that we need to talk about," he advised on Peace FM's 'Kokrokoo'.
