The National Coordinator of the 'One District One Factory' policy, Madam Gifty Ohene Konadu is optimistic new more factories under the 'One District One Factory' will be commissioned by the end of the year following the working pace at the various project sites.

She admitted that the Coronavirus pandemic has slowed down work at various sites but was impressed by how works are now picking up steadily in-spite of the deadly Coronavirus outbreak.

The current government under the leadership of H.E. Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo seeks to address the problem by undertaking a massive industrialization campaign across the country, which will equip and empower communities to utilize their local resources in manufacturing products that are in high demand both locally and internationally.

Speaking to the press when she inspected some ongoing projects in the Ashanti region, Madam Gifty Ohene Konadu was impressed with the work being done by some of the companies. 

She continued that there are a lot of the projects which are in full operations now even with some of the projects being nearer to completion and won’t be surprised it will start operations before the estimated time period.

However, she was worried about the politicization of the project, saying the opposition party has been playing politics with these projects to deceive Ghanaians that there is nothing like 'One District One Factory' in existence. 

She asked Ghanaians should rubbish such politics attached to development because it is not healthy for the socio-economic growth of the country.

At Western Dewdew, work was at the walling and roofing stage and the project is expected to be completed by August for operations.

The rice processing factory at Agona is expected to provide direct and indirect jobs.
