“Don't Mess With My Brand” - Sista Afia Warns Freda Rhymz

Rapper Freda Rhymz and singer Sista Afia on Saturday, May 23, 2020 battled out on UTV's 'United Showbiz' but this time it was more of a friendly fire than a physical confrontation between the two.

The two artistes not long ago clashed at the premises of TV3 where they exchanged words which nearly resulted in a brawl.

It all began with a rap battle between three talented female artistes, Sista Afia, Eno Barony and Freda Rhymz with these artistes exhibiting their lyrical prowess.

Of course, they threw heavy punches at one another in their songs but the straw that broke the camel's back was when Freda Rhymz released her ''Point of Correction'' song where she accused Sista Afia of having illicit sexual affairs.

This punchline provoked Sista Afia who promised to beat up Freda Rhymz and the two artistes got social media blazing with their near-to-fisticuffs incident.

This notwithstanding, Sista Afia and Freda Rhymz mustered the courage to meet each other on United Showbiz to tell their sides of the story and how two good friends ended up ''beefing'' themselves.

Speaking to host Nana Ama Mcbrown, Sista Afia explained that her single ''WMT'' wasn't a diss song for any of the female artistes but it appears rappers Eno Barony and Freda Rhymz wanted to capitalize on her song to revive their music career.

She believed her versatility made her a target for the female rappers but, to her, Freda Rhymz in particular is not in her league of titans and so she was an uninvited guest.

According to her, she didn't mention the name of Freda Rhymz in her songs but the rapper decided to attack her and she however kept her cool until the rapper shot back again.

As Sista Afia was explaining herself, Freda Rhymz who was part of the panel on the show also made a few interjections to say that the singer doesn't understand the rap game because she (Freda Rhymz) was only waxing lyrical in her songs and didn't expect her shots to offend the sensibilities of Sista Afia for her to take it on personal level.

She also refuted Sista Afia's claims that she attacked her first.

“I'm a rapper and so if somebody is throwing shots at me, I know...I mean it's rap. That is why I'm saying you don't understand rap. But if you really understand rap, you said something to me; I know,” the ''I Dey Go'' hit maker said.

Freda Rhymz' response didn't settle down well with Sista Afia who, in turn, issued a strict warning to Freda not to dare mess with her brand.

Sista Afia divulged to Nana Ama Mcbrown that she physically confronted her colleague artiste because of the latter's allegations that she was warming the bed of three topnotch male artistes in the country and the accusations made her feel disrespected.

She cautioned Freda to stay clear off her brand.

“Well, let me tell you my problem with you. My problem with you is that you keep messing with my brand. Don't mess with my brand ever [ever] again,” she cautioned.

“Well, I don't intend to tarnish your brand,” Freda Rhymz replied.
