Easing COVID-19 Restrictions: Maker's House Chapel Remain Closed

The Maker's House Chapel International says they remain closed for some time, despite the easing of restrictions on churches by President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo.

In a statement signed by the head Pastor for the Church, Dr. Michael Boadi Nyamekye, he explained that they appreciate the President's call for churches to congregate and worship albeit they are supposed to observe some protocols.

However, the health and safety of members still remain paramount to the church and so the church will continue to provide virtual service for its members until headway is found for COVID 19 and the sanctions relaxed some more.

"So I deem it fit to announce to you that TMH (Destiny Arena) will remain closed for some time until we have clarity and the sanctions relaxed some more," he said.

He entreated all to bear with the directive.

"Hopefully, this gets over soon so we can meet and hug again," he added.

Gatherings should not be more than 100 people

President Akufo-Addo has introduced a phased approach of easing of restrictions especially in public gatherings and school attendance.

In his 10th address to the nation on measures being taken against the spread of COVID-19 he said effective 5th June, churches and mosques can start meeting with a maximum congregation of 100 and the mandatory wearing of nose mask.

"In addition to mandatory wearing of masks, a register of names and contact details of all worshippers must be provided; maximum duration of one hour per service," he said.

As you are all aware, the President has eased the restrictions on social gatherings. Churches can meet for an hour with not more than 100 people.

Looking at:

1. Our Congregation size

2. Number of services required

3. The health of the active players in a service

4. Overhead cost

5. Pressure on equipment and facility.

6. The logistics to put in place, i.e, writing of names per service and submitting it to the authorities, all the COVID-19 protocols.

I deem it fit to announce to you that TMH (Destiny Arena) will remain closed for some time until we have clarity and the sanctions relaxed some more.

I will entreat all of you to bear the church and its membership in prayer.

Hopefully, this gets over soon so we can meet and hug again.

Love, blessings, and kind regards.
